UFC Vegas 124 gets new main event | MMA News

Nine days before UFC Vegas 124 takes place at the Meta Apex in Las Vegas, the struggle card obtained a new main event. Former LFA Heavyweight Champion Waldo Cortes-Acosta and Johnny Walker meet in the headlining bout.

The event was initially headlined by a welterweight match but a staph infection pressured Sean Brady to back out of the featured struggle against Gabriel Bonfim. The news was first reported by Laerte Viana on Twitter. Bonfim is predicted to be booked for a later date.

Cortes-Acosta (17-4) will enter the struggle ranked No. 8 and wanting to rebound from back-to-back choice losses to Curtis Blaydes and Alexander Volkov. Walker (23-10, 1 NC) will probably be wanting to construct off the momentum gained by knocking out Mick Parkin at UFC 323 earlier this month. Walker’s ranked No. 12 in the heavyweight division.

Tatiana Suarez and Virna Jandiroba collide in the UFC Vegas 124 co-main event in a struggle between two of the ladies’s strawweight top contenders.
