Ian Andre Roberts, the previous superintendent of Des Moines Public Schools in Iowa, pleaded guilty in federal court on Thursday to falsely claiming U.S. citizenship on federal employment kinds and illegally possessing firearms as an unlawful alien.

Separate reporting revealed Roberts was beforehand registered as a Democrat voter in Maryland’s Prince George’s County, where he falsely checked “yes” to U.S. citizenship on voter kinds, though data show he never truly voted.
