Wait, What? Democrat Leader Who Supported Mamdani | Political News
Well, this is fascinating.
On Friday, the U.S. House of Representatives voted 285-98 in favor of condemning “the horrors of socialism.” The vote comes just hours before avowed socialist Zohran Mamdani, mayor-elect of New York City, meets with President Trump at the White House.
“Resolved by the House of Representatives that Congress denounces socialism in all its forms and opposes the implementation of socialist policies in the United States,” the textual content reads.
It’s not the vote itself that is fascinating – it is good to get on document which lawmakers assist and which condemn a disastrous political system that is antithetical to how our nation operates – but who crossed the aisle to be a part of their GOP colleagues in disavowing the likes of Mamdani. Included amongst the 86 Democrats voting to condemn socialism was your complete Democrat House management staff: House Minority Leader Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, (NY-08), House Minority Whip Rep. Katherine Clark (MA-05), Chair of the House Democratic Caucus Rep. Pete Aguilar (CA-33), and Vice Chair of the House Democratic Caucus Rep. Ted Lieu (CA-36).

Wait a second, you is perhaps saying to your self, did not Hakeem Jeffries endorse Democrat socialist famous person Mamdani? Yes. Yes, he did. Poor Hakeem is caught between a rock and a exhausting place – he does not appear prepared to cede his celebration to its rising socialist wing, despite his Mamdani endorsement and the fact that his home state is a breeding ground for younger Marxists, but he now finds himself going through a major showdown from Chi Ossé, a member of the Democratic Socialists of America celebration.
A precarious predicament, certainly. Expect Jeffries to continue to flounder, particularly with the looming retirement of Nancy Pelosi, the one particular person who’s been propping up his “leadership” for the past few years.

The Supposed Great Victory of Zohran Mamdani Stinks to High Heaven
It feels like there have been some fairly good fireworks on the House flooring forward of Friday morning’s vote. Republican Rep. Maria Salazar (FL-27), the creator of the measure, apparently obtained into a heated verbal altercation with Democrat Rep. Maxine Waters (CA-43), with Salazar accusing Waters of being a “friend” of Cuban dictator Fidel Castro despite.
Following the vote, which all Republican members supported, one GOPer spoke of the need to condemn socialism.
“It always leads to a destruction of liberties for people,” Representative Byron Donalds of Florida said. “We have a responsibility to defend the American core of capitalism, free markets and liberty [against] socialism, democratic socialism, communism, authoritarianism, fascism.”
As for the person himself, Zohran Mamdani did not appeared fussed by the House vote decrying socialism. When requested for remark by the media as he made his approach to the White House assembly, Mamdani replied, “Brother, I can tell you all I’ve been thinking about is preparing for this meeting and speaking up for New Yorkers.”
