Wheel of Fortune fans slam contestant for losing | TV Shows


Wheel of Fortune viewers have criticized a contestant for failing to work out what they say was an “easy puzzle” for the bonus round.

On the Friday 28 March episode of the ABC show commercial pilot Connor Kemmsies, of Lakeside, Californiamade it to the final challenge. He chose the letters, R, S, T, L, N and E but could not work out the phrase.

He was then given the letters C, M, D, and A by Vanna White,and the board read: _ D _ D M _ _ _ M E _ _ R _.

Connor worked out the first part of the phrase but wasn’t able to figure out the last word.

After host Ryan Seacrest revealed the answer is: ”I DID MY HOMEWORK” Connor joked: ”Aw, dude, I don’t do homework anymore.”

A fourth said: “I got it right away. but if he would have said H he would have got it.”

Others backed Connor including one person who said: “I got it, but I don’t blame him. It took me a bit to get it.”

In September when Seacrest first started hosting the show, Wheel of Fortune averaged 7.99 million viewers.

In that period the show was the most-watched entertainment series across broadcast, cable, and syndication, according to Nielsen data per Newsweek.

In January, data revealed that the show only saw a slight drop in audience numbers by the end of 2024, The Los Angeles Times reports.

Nielsen data showed that the show racked up an average of 7.9 million viewers through December 1, 2024 – an increase of three percent from 2023.
