Jordan Spieth gives verdict on new PGA chief

Golf sensation Jordan Spieth expressed his enthusiasm for the PGA Tour’s new management, saying the group is “really lucky” to have Brian Rolapp stepping in as CEO.

Following J. J. Spaun’s triumph at the U.S. Open, the PGA Tour dropped a bombshell announcement that Rolapp would assume the novel function of CEO, poised to grow to be the tour’s efficient commissioner once Jay Monahan departs at the top of next 12 months.

World No.1 Scottie Scheffler received a style of Rolapp’s imaginative and prescient during a preTravelers Championship assembly, although he had to duck out early due to the session’s prolonged period. Spieth, who has been wowed by Rolapp’s perspective on the tour’s direction, shared his ideas.

“Yeah, I did yesterday, and I thought his comments to the players that were there, I really, really liked him,” Spieth remarked when queried about his interplay with Rolapp.

“I think he seems like a steal from the most successful sports organization in the world (the NFL), and someone who is on the path to becoming potentially commissioner over there, to coming over and taking the PGA Tour forward.

“I believe he resonated a lot with some of the gamers about difficult some of the networks on how they’re exhibiting the product. Then being open and prepared to adapt and change while sustaining the integrity of the sport. I believe he mentioned all the correct issues.

“From other players to other people that are sponsors that have reached out to me since, have all been super excited about that hire, and that we’re very lucky to have him.

“It was just type of an introduction, not a lot more than that. It was with a couple of others, and I used to be just type of mentioning how I used to be on the board and I’m not anymore, and so on and so forth.

“Yeah, he’s encouraging everyone to reach out, and he’s going to reach out to players, and he wants their perspective on things. As you know, we can get quite opinionated about certain things, so I’m sure he’ll take what he knows to be something that could help and not.

“It just looks as if he can convey a wealth of expertise in a lot of locations, but then he is tremendous open to studying more about golf and the PGA Tour’s business and the product itself from those that know more about it until he will get caught up.”

“It just looks as if a very I imply, it looks as if a great strategy that sponsors are going to actually get pleasure from, gamers are going to actually get pleasure from, the networks ought to get pleasure from working with him, and that mixture hopefully makes the product higher and higher for the fan, which is actually what we’re making an attempt to do.”

In a similar vein, Scottie Scheffler touched on his missed opportunity to engage with Rolapp, revealing, “I had to depart the assembly a couple of minutes early.
