Paul Azinger has advised that Keegan Bradley should have chosen the LIV Golf trio of Brooks Koepka, Patrick Reed, and Dustin Johnson for his 2025 Ryder Cup workforce at Bethpage Black. Despite a spirited battle on the ultimate day of motion in New York, Bradley’s workforce fell short, dropping to Luke Donald’s Team Europe 15-13. It comes as Bradley has been told that a ‘chip on shoulder’ led to Ryder Cup defeat.

The weekend was crammed with drama, including Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry going through harsh criticism from spectators, and Bryson DeChambeau getting into a dispute with Tommy Fleetwood and Justin Rose. DeChambeau was the only LIV Golf participant chosen for the US Team, but he wasn’t a captain’s decide.

Instead, Bradley selected Sam Burns, Patrick Cantlay, Ben Griffin, Collin Morikawa, Justin Thomas, and Cameron Young as his captain’s picks. Meanwhile, Tiger Woods has been snubbed as Brandel Chamblee named his picks for the next US Ryder Cup captain.

However, Azinger, a three-time winner and a profitable captain with the USA in 2008, believes Bradley should have picked Koepka, Reed, and Johnson. On Golf’s SubPar podcast, Azinger shared that despite Koepka’s current struggles in majors, he believes the five-time major winner, who gained the PGA Championship at Bethpage Black in 2019, would have been an asset.

“I feel like once we dipped into the well on LIV, we probably should have brought five-times major winning [Brooks] Koepka, who won the PGA Championship at Bethpage Black,” said Azinger, studies the Mirror US.

“Then maybe pick Patrick Reed and Dustin Johnson. If you are going to dip into the LIV pool and pull Bryson.”

Team Europe selected two LIV Golf stars for their Ryder Cup roster, with Tyrrell Hatton incomes computerized qualification, while Spaniard Jon Rahm obtained a captain’s choice.

The inclusion of Hatton and Rahm proved profitable for Team Europe, one thing Azinger highlighted labored completely for Donald’s squad, noting they’d zero hesitation choosing the previous world primary, with Hatton securing his spot through computerized qualification.

Hatton and Rahm compete as Legion XIII companions on the LIV Golf circuit, with the pair teaming up during last weekend’s Ryder Cup in foursomes matches on Friday and Saturday, where they secured victories against DeChambeau and Justin Thomas plus Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay. Azinger continued: “I would have really probably pulled Koepka. There is no way Koepka is not going to man up and play great this Ryder Cup, but they did not.

“But Europe didn’t have a drawback bringing Rahm and Hatton, they play for the Smashers over there on the LIV Tour, so they’re already teammates.

“That was a brilliant pair and a brilliant pick, Luke did everything right.”
