La Voix and her professional accomplice Aljaž Škorjanec will take to the ground tonight with the Cha Cha Cha to Hit Me With Your Best Shot by Pat Benatar.

Speaking solely to Express.co.uk after a rehearsal for theperformance, the flame-haired singer admitted that years of touring her reveals haven’t ready her for the Strictly Come Dancing schedule.She said: “I’m used to doing a show just on an evening and maybe prepping and warming up later in the afternoon. So the length of hours is completely different. It’s obviously a different skill set and also add on to that, when you’re exhausted, you then do the show on BBC, and  it goes out live.

“The exhaustion is what pulls you through. I think sometimes I found it mentally a journey, physically, a journey.  I can see why people say it’s the hardest thing they ever do, but ever do, but it’s also the most enjoyable thing I’ve ever done.”

However, there’s one ingredient she just isn’t having fun with. As somebody who is used to the best and most glamorous of heels in her real life the dance footwear merely aren’t cutting it for her.

“The shoes are awful. I don’t know where they get from. I think there must be a marketing forum they go to? I mean, they’re, you know, they’re the shoes that you’d see your grandma wearing,” she joked.
