Stephanie Miller had Sean Hannity on his toes as she turned the tables on him, involving a query about former President Biden’s alleged cognitive decline.

The 64-year-old political commentator, who hosts her own progressive radio program, The Stephanie Miller Show, was a visitor on Hannity’s show on Fox News on Wednesday, November 12. During her look on the show, the 63-year-old conservative reporter requested her when she observed “Biden’s cognitive decline.” Hannity adopted that query by telling Miller, “Don’t change the subject and deflect.”

“Well, I think it was through all of the times that Donald Trump has fallen asleep in public and talked about magnets getting wet in the last few—” Miller started, referring to specific viral clips of Trump nodding off and his ramblings.

Hannity can be heard saying, “Oh my gosh,” while Miller was speaking. The two continued their tense exchange, which saw Hannity become increasingly irritated.

Miller appeared to be referring to a live broadcast of a press conference at the White House on November 7. The press conference was to announce the agreement drugmakers Eli Lilly and Novo Nordisk made with Trump to lower the price of some GLP-1 weight loss medication. While Dr. Mehmet Oz was speaking, Trump was seen on camera closing his eyes and appearing to be asleep.

The “magnets getting wet” seemed to be in reference to an odd remark Trump made at a rally in Iowa in January 2024.

“Think of it, magnets. Now all I know about magnets is this: give me a glass of water, let me drop it on the magnets, that’s the end of the magnets,” Trump said before mentioning agricultural machinery company John Deere multiple times.

However, Trump has recently talked about magnets various times in the past week. During the swearing-in of the new ambassador to India on Monday, November 10, the 79-year-old convicted felon went into a rant about China and a recent agreement with the country, regarding the alleviation of their rare earth export rules. He said China was going to hit America with “rare earth,” which meant “magnets”. He claimed that “nobody knows what magnets are” after saying China has a monopoly on magnets.

He reiterated the same magnet claim on Fox News earlier this week. Trump said to the outlet, “President Xi was willing to do the railroad things—that’s magnets. Now, no person is aware of what a magnet is. If you don’t have a magnet, you don’t have a car. You don’t make a pc, you don’t make, er, televisions and radios and all the other issues—you don’t make something”

Discussions of Biden’s cognitive skills have existed since before and during his presidency, particularly by Trump and other Republicans. The dialogue escalated when the 82-year-old politician was working for president in 2024 and then withdrew in July of that yr.

Jack Tapper co-wrote a guide with Axios reporter Alex Thompson, Original Sin: President Biden’s Decline, Its Cover-Up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again, about Biden’s supposed cognitive decline. The non-fiction guide was printed on May 20, and it described the allegations of Biden’s mental and bodily decline during the second half of his presidency and how it was hid from the American public by his inside circle, particularly in his resolution to run for reelection in 2024.

A spokesperson from Biden’s workplace said that the release of the guide was an attempt to make a revenue, per NPR.

“We continue to await anything that shows where Joe Biden had to make a presidential decision or where national security was threatened or where he was unable to do his job,” the spokesperson said. “He was a very effective president.”

In June, Biden had said Trump and congressional Republicans’ focus on his cognitive skills is a “distraction” from “disastrous legistlature they’re pushing such as cutting applications like Medicaid and raising prices on American households, ” all to pay for tax breaks for the ultra-wealthy and big companies.”
