A public health emergency has been proclaimed by officers in Washington state due to excessive climate and flooding.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), issued a public health emergency declaration for the state of Washington on Wednesday to deal with the health results of the area’s excessive storms, winds, flooding, landslides, and mudslides.

President Donald Trump declared an emergency earlier this month for the Washington counties of Benton, Chelan, Clallam, Grays Harbor, Jefferson, King, Kittitas, Lewis, Mason, Pierce, Skagit, Snohomish, Thurston, Wahkiakum, Whatcom, and Yakima. Additionally, the Samish Indian Nation and all other Tribal Nations within the designated jurisdictions have been included in the announcement.
