A new video has surfaced that exhibits Anthony Joshua being led into what seems to be a police car following the crash he was concerned in on Monday. The former world heavyweight champion was a passenger in a car that officers consider collided with a stationary lorry in Nigeria. Two of his associates and close buddies, Sina Ghami and Latif Ayodele, had been killed in the crash.

Shortly after the crash, footage on social media confirmed the boxer grimacing in pain as he was helped out of the wreckage. Now, a new video seems to show Joshua being led into a police car.

In the clip, Joshua is seen being helped up from a kneeling place on the highway and led away from the crash website. He is then guided into what seems to be like a police car as rescue officers and bystanders direct visitors around him.

Details from the crash are still rising, with his promoters Matchroom releasing a assertion on Monday evening confirming that he was injured and that two of his crew members had died.

The assertion read: “Anthony Joshua was involved in a road traffic accident in Lagos, Nigeria, earlier today.

“With profound unhappiness it has been confirmed that two close buddies and crew members Sina Ghami and Latif Ayodele have tragically handed away.

“Matchroom Boxing and 258 BXG can confirm that Anthony sustained injuries in the accident and was taken to hospital for checks and treatment. He is in a stable condition and will remain there for observation.

“Our deepest condolences and prayers are with the households and buddies of all those affected – and we ask that their privateness is revered at this extremely tough time. No additional remark can be made at this time.”

The crash took place just days after Joshua had knocked out Jake Paul in their money-spinning showdown. He was expected to fight again in Saudi Arabia in February ahead of a long-awaited meeting with Tyson Fury in the second half of 2026.

It remains to be seen how the crash will affect those plans, with Joshua needing to recover from the injuries he sustained in the collision. The extent of those injuries are not yet known.

Bola Tinubu, the president of Nigeria, said on Monday night he had spoken with Joshua to offer his condolences over the death of his two friends.

On social media, he wrote: “I needed him a full and speedy recovery, and prayed with him. AJ assured me he’s receiving the best doable care. I also spoke with his mom and prayed for her. She was deeply appreciative of the call.”
