Democrats Try to Hold Government Hostage As

Democrats continue to insist that the hill they’re prepared to die on is to do every little thing doable to keep unlawful immigrants, even those who have dedicated violent crimes, in the nation. Their latest “strategy” is to shut the federal government down to keep away from funding for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), which, in flip, funds Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). On Tuesday, Senate Majority Whip John Barrasso (R-WY) took to the Senate flooring to slam what he called Democrats’ “Christmas list of demands” to power Republicans’ palms and shut the federal government down for the second time in six months.

Barrasso said of the Democrats’ checklist of calls for:

“The more we learn about the demands coming from the minority leader and that party, the less the normal American citizen likes them — and that’s especially if you are concerned about any safety or any security in the community in which you live.”

Barrasso also talked about the latest hoops that Democrats would love to make the federal authorities soar through to take away unlawful immigrants from the nation. They are demanding that ICE acquire judicial warrants instead of administrative warrants. Judicial warrants grant ICE brokers the proper to enter a residence or place of business. It must be issued by a court and signed by a choose. 

Administrative warrants, though, don’t grant ICE officers the proper to enter a residence. Barrasso rightly identified that forcing ICE brokers to use judicial warrants instead of administrative warrants can be “a dramatic change, and it could grind immigration enforcement to a halt.” But then again, that’s the entire thought. Barrasso continued, saying:

“You know what it would do? It would lock in place the chaos that Joe Biden and the Democrats foisted upon this country with their wide-open border policy. Democrats’ preference is to release illegal immigrants who are criminals right onto our streets. They prefer that over holding them until immigration officials can come to pick them up if they’ve been arrested.”

But the most ridiculous, and the most telling of all the gadgets Democrats predict Republicans to cave to, is their need to ban immigration enforcement at alleged “sensitive locations.” What is a delicate location, you ask? Any place of worship, hospitals, and faculties. However, they now need one more added to the checklist: polling areas.

We have been told time and again that unlawful immigrants don’t vote. Really? In December of 2025, two males in New Jersey, Muhammad Muzammal and Muhammad Shakeel, had been indicted for illegally voting in a federal election and making false statements while making use of for U.S. citizenship. The drawback is, that while Democrats try to stick it to ICE, what they’re actually doing is just making life tough for common Americans. Not funding DHS also means no funding for other companies just like the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). 

Democrats have a fairly clear alternative. Fund DHS, or shut down the federal government, all in the identify of placating their radical base and placing unlawful immigrants before American residents. It’s those same American residents who have gotten more and more conscious that Democrats’ decision-making leaves a lot to be desired.
