Savannah Guthrie reportedly plotted her TV return with her latest interview.

On February 1, Nancy Guthrie, the 87-year-old mom of the TODAY Show anchor, was reported lacking from her home in Arizona. Authorities imagine Nancy was taken against her will by her abductor(s).

Lynn Carratt, PR and Entertainment Expert at E20 Communications, spoke to Express US about Savannah breaking her silence as she returned to TODAY for her sit-down. Kotb had been filling in for the anchor as the investigation went on.

Carratt said, “From an skilled PR perspective, this is a very deliberate and carefully thought of transfer.

“Savannah Guthrie is not just a journalist reporting on someone else’s story,” Carratt continued, “She is now part of the story herself.

“By sitting down with a trusted colleague and former co-host like Hoda Kotb, she retains editorial control, emotional security, and authenticity and retains the case at the top of the news agenda,” Carratt closed.

During the interview, Savannah had a message directly addressed to her mom’s kidnapper. She broke into tears and begged, “Someone wants to do the appropriate factor. We are in agony. We are in agony. It is insufferable.”

“We thought possibly they got here and there was a stretcher and they took her out the back, but her cellphone was there, and her purse was there, and all her issues,” Guthrie recounted during the sit-down. “And it just did not make any sense.

“Her back was very bad,” she added. “On a good day, she could walk down to the mailbox and get the mail, but most days not. So there was no wander off, and the doors were propped open, and the ring camera had been yanked off.”

Guthrie suspected her mom was possible in her pajamas and wasn’t carrying footwear when she was forcibly taken.
