Dont intend to make a change…

Carlos Mendoza can sleep a little better at night time.

The embattled Mets supervisor obtained public backing from his president of baseball operations David Stearns on Friday.

“We know our record is not what we want, and we know we are capable of more,” Stearns, who didn’t offer readability on Mendoza’s job security to The Post’s Joel Sherman when requested a day earlier, told MLB.com. “We don’t view this as a manager problem, and we don’t intend to make a change.”

To say it’s been a attempting start to Mendoza’s second season in Queens could be an understatement.

The Mets completed April at an MLB-worst 10-21, struggling in a number of sides of the sport and enduring a 12-game dropping streak.

Injuries have plagued the roster, with slugger Juan Soto lacking 16 video games.

Questions about Mendoza’s job have grown frequent and louder as the season begins to spiral away — with fellow big-market groups in the Phillies and Red Sox pulling the set off on managerial strikes as they’ve struggled to meet expectations.

“There’s no excuses,’’ Mendoza said Wednesday. “It’s been a long period of time here that we’re not playing well. We’ve got to fix it.”

He’ll have that likelihood.
