Escape To The Country guests confess connection

A pair of Escape To The Country guests have disclosed an surprising hyperlink to the show’s presenter.

Paul and Julie, who had been looking out for a new home in Lancashire with a £450,000 finances, had an attentiongrabbing story to inform about their connection to host Jules Hudson.

The couple had lately returned from a 16year stint in Perth, Western Australia, and had been quickly staying with Julie’s sister while they regarded for their own place.

Jules Hudson was on hand to help them in their quest for the proper property back in good outdated Blighty.

But as it turned out, Paul and Julie had encountered Jules before their property search even kicked off, reviews Lancs Live.

Julie shared the serendipitous encounter: “I bought your book and you inscribed it for me.”

Jules reminisced about the inscription: “In which I think I said, I’m so glad the book is reminding you of home, and if you come back and want to escape to the country, give me a shout!”

To which the visitor responded: “You did, and we did,” prompting Jules to quip: “You’ve got to be careful what you wish for!”

Despite their eagerness to discover a new home, Paul and Julie acknowledged that they may need to “compromise” in contrast to the “huge” space they loved in Australia.

Julie mirrored on their choice to return: “It was never, ever going to be our forever home in Australia, we always felt that we would come back at some point, and now is the right time.”

With a chuckle, Paul confessed his longing for Marmite, “good television”, and cheese, which he missed “unbelievably” during their time overseas.

They even discovered themselves lacking the British climate, describing the clouds as a “welcome change” from Australia’s scorching heat.

Their longing for home was so robust that they had been ready to downsize from their halfanacre plot in Australia, but still desired an openplan residing space with three bedrooms and a personal garden.

“It’s great to be back, but a bit strange” Julie admitted.

“I suppose as Escapees go, they are quite unusual,” Jules noticed.

“While they have already sold their property and moved, they are currently residing here in Lancashire, while all of their worldly possessions are still in transit at sea.

“So it is all to play for for this couple who are shifting from the opposite aspect of the world, from Down Under, to right here, Up North.”

After a few days of viewings, which Julie described as “full on”, the couple opted for the third of four houses they were offered.

“We’re a lot clearer now that home takes precedence over location,” Paul mused.

The 1920s bungalow had captured their hearts, prompting them to arrange a second viewing just days after filming.

However, Jules later disclosed that following their stint on Escape To The Country, Paul and Julie’s journey encountered several more “twists and turns”.

They unfortunately missed out on the bungalow they’d set their hearts on, after another offer was accepted. However, they discovered another property near the first house they were shown, and hoped to move in within a few months.
