Former CNN reporter Jim Acosta has elicited criticism for his remarks about President Donald Trump‘s lifeless exwife, Ivana.
Acosta, who served as a chief White House correspondent for CNN for practically 20 years, made a crude remark about Ivana while slamming Trump’s immigration insurance policies on The Contrarian podcast Monday.
While recapping the hundreds of antiTrump ‘No Kings’ protests that occurred across the nation Saturday alongside the president’s navy parade, Acosta digressed, “Where are the ICE raids at the Trump properties?
“Could any person call ICE on the Trump golf course in Virginia? You’re telling me there’s no one in there that is undocumented or has some variety of squirreliness going on with their paperwork?”
“How many immigrants has he married? He’s bought one buried at his golf course in New Jersey! Isn’t she buried by the first gap or the second tee or one thing like that?”, eliciting chuckles from hosts April Ryan and Jennifer Rubin.
The 54yearold son of a Cuban immigrant added, “Immigrants, at all times doing the roles that Americans don’t need to do!”
Ivana, the president’s first of three wives and mother of Donald Jr. and Eric, died in 2022 from blunt impact injuries after falling down a flight of stairs at age 73.
She was born in the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic, now the Czech Republic, and emigrated to Canada in the 1970s. She got married to Trump a year after meeting him in New York City in 1976.
She was buried at Trump’s golf course in Bedminster, New Jersey.
Now, Trump is married to his third wife, Melania, who is also a European immigrant. She came to the United States in 1996 from Slovenia.

Some Trump supporters took issue with Acosta’s remarks, and White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said that he is a “disgraceful human being” on Fox News.
“Disgraceful! And she was a legal immigrant not an unlawful ALIEN!” one X user wrote.
Another added, “He’s an evil and sick human.”
“Classless idiots,” a third penned.
However, some users expressed support for Acosta’s sentiments.
“Jim, yes, that is the proper query to ask. We are the longer term, variety,” one user wrote in The Contrarian’s YouTube comments.
“Jim do not be sorry for what you say. Thanks for standing up,” another wrote.
