Happy Gilmore star dies after terrifying entire | UK News

Happy Gilmore‘s Morris the Alligator has died, nearly three many years after scaring an entire era of youngsters. The reptile shot to fame after his 1996 look in Adam Sandler’s basic golf comedy movie.

The Colorado Gator Farm confirmed his death with a video of forlorn farm operator Jay Young stroking Morris’ head. The 9-foot-long, 640-pound reptile was estimated to be between 80 and 90 years previous. After his unforgettable look in the basic, Young revealed that Morris can be taxidermied so he can “scare children for years to come.”

In the clip, Young confirmed that Morris died of “old age,” and defined: “He started acting strange a week ago. He wasn’t lunging at us and wasn’t taking food. I know it’s strange to people… that we get so attached to an alligator.”

Fighting back tears, he added: “It’s the worst part of what we do, losing animals. He had a happy time here, and he died of old age.”

In a separate Instagram post, which confirmed a video of the reptile being weighed, the Colorado Gator Farm wrote: “We have decided to get Morris taxidermied so that he can continue to scare children for years to come. It’s what he would have wanted.”

Fans poured in with tributes, sharing their condolences and penned: “Devastating news! We have seen him many times! RIP Morris! We will miss you!”

A second added: “Jay, my family is so sad for the loss of Morris. He lived a great life as an actor but in his retirement years under your care he was genuinely loved.”

“Tears for Morris. I’m thankful he had you all taking care of him,” shared one other.

While a fourth commented: “Rest in peace sweet buddy. My heart goes out to the Colorado Gators family, ya’ll gave him a beautiful life!” (sic)
