French officers have reportedly barred U.S. Ambassador to France and Monaco Charles Kushner from meeting with authorities officers.

It was reported that Kushner, the father of President Donald Trump‘s son-in-law Jared, failed to reply a summons at the international ministry, which was seen as a breach of diplomatic protocol. As a consequence, Kushner has now been banned from meeting with officers.

“It’s not primarily a bilateral issue, it’s a question of the basic expectations attached to the mission of an ambassador,” a French official said in a assertion to The Hill. “We just needed to underline that he won’t be granted direct access to ministers and members of the federal government, but he can perform his duties [and present himself at the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs].”

The Daily Express U.S. reached out to the White House, State Department, and the French Ministry for remark. It was reported that last week, the embassy in France expressed concern over the death of Quentin Deranque, a 23-year-old French right-wing activist who was allegedly overwhelmed by left-wing militants.

“The information, corroborated by the French Minister of the Interior, according to which Quentin Deranque would have been killed by far-left militants, should concern us all,” the embassy said in a assertion on X. “Violent left-wing extremism is on the rise, and its role in the death of Quentin Deranque demonstrates the threat it poses to public safety.”

“We will continue to follow the situation and hope that the perpetrators of these acts of violence are brought to justice,” the embassy continued. The barring of Kushner comes as tensions between France and the U.S. have reached a boiling point.

Last month, President Emmanuel Macron asked for a NATO exercise to be conducted in Greenland and has expressed his readiness to contribute to it should Trump decide to invade and attempt to claim it as part of the U.S.ttempt to claim it as part of the U.S. During his speech at the World Economic Forum last month, Macron delivered a scathing criticism of Trump’s threat to impose steep tariffs if Europe does not allow him to take over Greenland.

Without instantly mentioning the U.S. president, Macron said, “It’s… ‍a shift toward a world without guidelines, where worldwide law ‍is ‍trampled underfoot and where the only law that appears to matter is that of the strongest.” He also criticized the resurfacing of what he called “imperial ‍ambitions.”

NATO leaders have cautioned that Trump’s Greenland strategy could upend the alliance, with the U.S. president linking his desire to acquire the Arctic territory to his anger at not receiving a Nobel Peace Prize. Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever urged Europe to “wake up” or risk becoming Trump’s “slaves.”

He said, “We have to wake up, we now have to rearm, we now have to combine our market, and we now have to search new alliances. He could make us slaves. And we’re slaves then.” California Governor Gavin Newsom slammed Europe for “rolling over” and capitulating to Donald Trump instead of “standing up” to him.

“I am unable to take this complicity of people rolling over,” he said. “I ought to have introduced a bunch of knee pads for all the world leaders. I imply handing out crowns, the Nobel prizes that are being given away. It’s just pathetic. And I hope people perceive how pathetic they give the impression of being on the world stage.”

Ursula von der Leyen, the EU Commission president, said Europe is creating a new bundle on Arctic security in response to Donald Trump’s threats to seize Greenland. The bundle will embrace the non-negotiable sovereignty of Greenland and Denmark, a major investment in Greenland, and cooperation with the U.S. on wider Arctic security.
