Prince William severed his friendship with an ITV star after feeling ‘betrayed’ over his documentary with Prince Harry and Meghan.

The Prince of Wales felt ITV News anchor Tom Bradby had “crossed a line” when he took half in a documentary with the Sussexes during their tour of South Africa in 2019, where Harry disclosed he and his brother have been on “different paths.” In a new biography, William and Catherine: The Intimate Inside Story, by The Mirror’s royal editor Russell Myers, it’s revealed how, up until that second, William had developed a close relationship with Bradby during his time as royal correspondent for the broadcaster.

The ITV documentary marked a turning level in relations between the brothers as in it, Harry addressed claims for the first time that there was a rift between him and William, noting at the time that they had “good days” and “bad days”. Meanwhile, Meghan mentioned her wrestle balancing motherhood with intense media scrutiny and said not many people had requested her if she was OK.

William and Catherine: The Intimate Inside Story discloses that upon his return from Africa to movie the documentary, Bradby reached out to William to specific his fear about Harry’s mental state. However, a source acquainted with the dialog acknowledged that William was irate, feeling that the journalist had sided with Harry, studies the Mirror.

The source revealed: “William felt betrayed and severely let down. He considered Tom a friend, they had always got along and Harry was close to him too, but [William] never thought [Bradby] would take a side like he did.”

The e-book signifies that one of the main points for William was that Bradby appeared reluctant to query Harry or Meghan about the happenings within the royal family – with sources in the biography stating that most of the household had ensured Meghan felt welcomed.

The source additional added: “Tom knew full well what Meghan was accused of and chose not to raise it in the documentary, whilst she ran roughshod over the family. As far as [William] was concerned, the friendship was over there and then.”

In the Mirror‘s exclusive serialization of the new biography, it’s also disclosed that the Princess of Wales confirmed less curiosity than Prince William in stopping the Duke and Duchess of Sussex from stepping back from royal duties, deeming Prince Harry‘s departure as “inevitable”. In further revelations, the future queen finally acknowledged she “could do no more to bring the brothers together” – despite beforehand being a “voice of reason” throughout the breakdown of their relationship.

The biography, now out there for pre-order, also uncovers how William desired his disgraced uncle Andrew to be expelled from royal life immediately following his disastrous BBC Newsnight interview in 2019.
