Star Trek icon to space voyage…
Hollywood legend William Shatner left followers apprehensive for his health after he reportedly suffered a sudden medical emergency at his Los Angeles home on Wednesday, Sept. 24.
The incident was related to an issue with Shatner’s blood sugar, and he was the one who called for help as a “precaution,” his rep told GWN.
Although the “Star Trek” icon, 94, later clarified that he “overindulged” and joked that the “rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated,” he still thanked his followers for expressing their considerations.
Besides starring as Captain James T. Kirk in “Star Trek” from 1966 to 1969 and in seven sequel movies, the beloved actor portrayed the titular police sergeant T.J. Hooker from 1982 to 1986 and eccentric attorney Denny Crane in “Boston Legal” from 2004 to 2008.
After writing a number of books about his experiences on the units of “Star Trek,” the Emmy winner made a real-life voyage to space in October 2021. At the time, he was the oldest individual to ever do it at age 90.
Here is a look at Shatner’s life so far through the years, from his early days commanding the USS Enterprise as Captain Kirk to almost reaching the celebs aboard Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin space shuttle.
