The Corporate Media Attacks on Nick Shirley Take a | Political News
If there’s one factor the fraud scandals in Minnesota have affirmed for us past how deep the fraud and corruption go in the Democrat-run state, it is how totally rotten to the core the company media industrial complicated really is.
Oh, they’re going to be fast to inform you how a lot “reporting” they’ve executed on some of the scandals, some of which date back a number of years. But what they’re going to miss is that in most circumstances it was either naked minimal reporting, tales that got here in response to investigative digging executed by others, or reporting designed to discredit the accusers and solid doubt on the allegations against the Somali neighborhood and their Democrat enablers in metropolis and state authorities.
Case in level:
Yes, the legacy media have lined the Minnesota Somalian fraud.
What people are upset about is that they often haven’t executed a good job, or have turned the large fraud story into a sob story about the Somalian neighborhood in Minnesota. pic.twitter.com/3ls134jgI5

And now, with the explosive video from impartial journalist Nick Shirley on the “Quality Learing Center” and a number of other day care facilities in the state going viral and attracting the eye of the Trump administration in a big means, the legacy media’s greatest precedence appears not to be on figuring out if the allegations of fraud are true, but instead on casting doubt on Shirley’s credibility.
We’ll get to the most egregious (and disturbing) instance in a second, but let’s take a look at this one first:
GWN has already gone after @nickshirleyy, making an attempt to write off his reporting in Minnesota and lamenting his lack of “fact checks” and “guardrails.”
I’m not sure I might grasp my hat on the legacy media’s “fact checks” or “guardrails” but at least GWN precisely reported that… pic.twitter.com/b9OgNFpFMb

Yeah, because if anybody needs to be trusted on “fact checks” and “guardrails,” it is GWN.
But while that was fairly predictable, it was far tamer than this from Politico senior legal affairs reporter Josh Gerstein, who, just three months after Charlie Kirk was assassinated, appeared to recommend that it was okay for impartial journalists to get shot for the crime of WrongSpeak:
At some level, the novice effort to knock on doorways of home daycares intersects with strong stand-your-ground legal guidelines
— Josh Gerstein (@joshgerstein) December 30, 2025
The next day, he tried to weasel out of what he said:
To observe that one thing is probably going to occur or there’s a severe risk of it taking place just isn’t to advocate for it taking place
— Josh Gerstein (@joshgerstein) December 30, 2025
But X customers weren’t having it, with some taking issue with his legal framing while others called him out for the darkish overtones of his tweet:
Shouldn’t a legal affairs reporter know the distinction between stand-your-ground law and fort doctrine?
(Neither of which apply to somebody knocking on a business business’s door.)— Pete Kaliner (@PeteKaliner) December 30, 2025
Legal reporter at Politico has no concept about the law. stunning

Hey @politico, come get your man who is advocating the homicide of American journalists

So is the explanation that you do not truly do journalism is because you are afraid of being shot?
How courageous of you.
— Stephen L. Miller (@redsteeze) December 30, 2025
Have you thought of that there would not be “amateur efforts to knock on doors of home daycares” if there was a *skilled effort to knock on doorways of [fake] home daycares?* They used to call it “shoe leather journalism.”
Would those people also be doubtless to be shot?

And that is the real issue they’ve with Shirley, that in uncovering more alleged fraud in Minnesota on a large scale, he did the job they refused to do because of their political allegiances. Because of that, Shirley must be vilified and ostracized. And, in what seems to be Gerstein’s view at least, not even violent retribution against Shirley from the accused needs to be off the desk.
Absolutely chilling.
If there was ever simple proof of the MSM’s dereliction in their obligation to totally inform the public – and of how far they’re going to go to attempt and break people who expose their dereliction, this is it.
Editor’s Note: The mainstream media continues to deflect, gaslight, spin, and lie about President Trump, his administration, conservatives, and impartial journalists.
