While reflecting on the American workforce’s memorable victory, Trump acknowledged that witnesses in the venue reported listening to “USA” echo throughout the Olympic Center. “One observer in the arena noted it was the first time in his life that he heard the chant, ‘USA, USA, USA,’ which I don’t like hearing because I tell people that that had to do with Trump in 2016,” Trump explained.

“Slightly after your big win, but no longer. That’s the end of that, right? I can’t use that one anymore. But I do remember them doing that exactly. For a long time they were doing that.”

Shortly thereafter, Eruzione introduced Trump with a duplicate of the cowboy hat worn by Team USA during the 1980 opening ceremonies in Lake Placid. “This is an absolutely incredible honor,” Eruzione expressed.

“I’ve said this before, but when you put a USA jersey on, you’re playing for your country, you’re not playing for your state, your town, or your city. And what an honor it was for us to put that jersey on and accomplish what we accomplished.

“I’ve always said the gold medal is one thing that’s unbelievable, but this is the frosting on the cake.”

Craig echoed these sentiments, adding: “It’s an honor to be right here. I’m so proud of all my teammates and what now we have completed for our nation.

“When you get a chance to represent your country, whether it’s in the military or a sport, you can do something really special like my team did and then be recognized years later.”

As reported by GWN, the Congressional Gold Medal Act invoice will distribute three medals across the nation.

The first will reside at the Lake Placid Olympic Center in Lake Placid, New York, while the remaining two can be housed at the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Museum in Eveleth, Minnesota, and the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Museum in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
