Trump calls Minnesota a hellhole invaded by | Political News

Donald Trump called Minnesota a “hellhole” that’s been invaded by Somali immigrants, who he claims have “destroyed our country” as he spoke to reporters on Wednesday afternoon.

The remark got here as the president made an announcement associated to fuel mileage necessities across the nation in his bid to overhaul power coverage, some of which dates back many years, to pave the best way for a more strong fossil fuels industry.

A reporter requested him about his current feedback slamming Somali immigrants, and he interrupted her and slammed Minnesota’s politicians in the same breath.

“The mayor of Minneapolis, Jacob Frey, is saying that he’s actually proud to have the largest Somali community in the country, and his police chief is also saying…” the reporter started.

“Then he’s a fool. I wouldn’t be proud to have the largest Somalian. Look at their nation. Look at how bad their nation is. Their nation — it’s just people walking around killing each other,” the president responded.

He went on to accuse Somali immigrants of taking “billions of dollars out of our country” without offering evidence.

His next jab was aimed at Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), who is Somali herself. He reiterated false claims that she married her brother and called her a “fraud.”

“She shouldn’t be allowed to be a congresswoman, and I’m sure people are looking at that. And she should be thrown the hell out of our country,” Trump said.

Omar is a naturalized American citizen who has been serving Minnesota’s fifth congressional district since 2019. She immigrated to the U.S. legally in 1995 with her household, searching for asylum after they fled the Somali Civil War, and turned a citizen in 2000 at the age of 17.

Trump accused her and all the Somali population in Minneapolis — the whole lot of which Omar’s congressional district encompasses — of destroying the state and the nation.

His next jab was focused at Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, who ran for vice president on former Vice President Kamala Harris’ ticket last 12 months.

“Minnesota — you have an incompetent governor. You have a crooked governor — he’s crooked as hell, but he’s incompetent. Walz — he should be ashamed,” Trump said.

He then called for all Somalis in Minnesota and across the nation to be deported. “That beautiful land, that beautiful state, it’s a hellhole right now, and those Somalis should be out of here. They destroyed our country, and all they do is complain, complain, complain,” he said.

Omar publicly denounced the president’s earlier feedback on Somalis, calling his obsession with slamming them and her herself “creepy.”

“His obsession with me is creepy,” Omar wrote on social media. “I hope he gets the help he desperately needs.”
