Tyson Fury confirms boxing comeback after Anthony | Boxing News

Tyson Fury has announced his comeback to boxing, just a yr after hanging up his gloves. The ‘Gypsy King’ has been placing in the onerous yards during training and has now disclosed that he plans to make his return to the ring in 2026. Fury surprised the boxing world by asserting his retirement last January after struggling consecutive losses to Oleksandr Usyk.

The 37-year-old was incensed after the judges ruled against him in his conflict with the Ukrainian fighter and promptly called time on his profession. However, the previous heavyweight king has just lately dropped hints about a sensational comeback to aggressive boxing. Fury has been sharing common workout clips with his huge online following.

This seems to have culminated in today’s announcement. Fury uploaded a montage of training clips accompanied by an unmistakable message.

Taking to Instagram, Fury declared: “2026 is that year Return of the mac. Been away for a while but im back now, 37 years old and still punching. nothing better to do than punch men in the face and get paid for it.”

Rather than marking the New Year with festivities, Fury demonstrated his dedication to getting back in combating form. The ‘Gypsy King’ shared footage of himself working the pads at ISS Boxing and Muay Thai in Pattaya City, Thailand, and has also engaged in gentle sparring classes with fellow heavyweight Kevin Lerena.

“This is how I spent my New Year. Grinding and working my a** off! couldn’t think of anything better to do than this!” he posted on Instagram. “Great things come to those who work hard. All in the name of Jesus. Little by little on the daily we keep climbing.”

Rumours had been swirling around a potential British heavyweight showdown between Fury and Anthony Joshua. However, Joshua has since been concerned in a devastating car accident that claimed the lives of two expensive pals.

Promoter Frank Warren admitted uncertainty about what lies forward for both Fury and Joshua in the wake of this tragedy.

Warren explained to The Mirror: “Well, boxing will certainly be the last thing on his [Joshua’s] mind, right now,” and added: “He’s obviously lost two team members who were good, close friends who are now no longer with us, so that will be a big loss to him.

“I do not know the extent of his accidents, but it is also how mentally this will have an effect on him. Boxing again would be the last factor on his thoughts, but tragedy can have an effect on people in different methods; sometimes, you need one thing you may actually focus on to pull through to the other aspect.”
