Wheel Of Fortune followers have been left shocked when a self-confessed foodie failed to reply a food puzzle appropriately on the show.

The mistake prompted Jerria Graves-Jackson from Joliet, Illinois, to lose out on taking home an eye-watering $97,000. Jerria competed against Wade Kioski, from Owosso, Michigan, and Nick Trawick, from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in the episode which aired on February 3.

Discussing her food experience with host Ryan Seacrest, Jerria shared that she has a particular BBQ dry rub that has been handed down in her household for generations. However, she remained tightlipped on what particular ingredients go into the seasoning, even as Ryan tried to guess the recipe.

Nick solved the first toss-up, with Jerria fixing the second one. She then solved Twenty Five and Ready to Thrive touchdown on a wedge for a journey to Cape Town and including a not too shabby $27,148 in her bank.

While Nick solved the majority of the Same Name puzzle, he finally landed on Bankrupt, with Wade then choosing up the flip. A few letters in he solved Monthly & Buffalo Bills banking $1,500.

Jerria added to her prize fund by fixing Rio by Duran Duran, giving her a complete of $28,998. She was shocked to study it was the prize puzzle, falling forwards onto her podium when Ryan confirmed she had received a journey to Brazil and South Africa, with $41,998 in the bank.

As Ryan quizzed the varsity counselor on if she may get the time off to take the journeys, she replied, “I’ll try.” Wade solved two of three Triple Toss-ups, with Jerria fixing the third, as effectively as fixing the ultimate puzzle, Out of State Visitors, giving her a ultimate complete of $47,298.

Nick was left taking home $1,000, while Wade had $5,500. Jerria meanwhile, picked Food & Drink for her Bonus Round puzzle.

Jerria was cheered on by her husband, Russell, and her son, Russell Junior, as Ryan joked, “I met your mom in the audience, too. She said not to believe a word you say when it comes to the secret recipe.”

After being given “R,S,T,L,N, and E,” Jerria selected “C,M,H, and O.” No other letters came up leaving her puzzle looking like “_ _ _ _ _ _ _LE.” She incorrectly guessed “Crab Boil” at the last minute, failing to correctly solve “Fuji Apple.”

Ryan said, “You needed more letters to get to it,” before revealing envelope had $50,000 in it, which means she may have ended up taking home $97, 298. Ryan wished her effectively as he shared, “I hope your principal gives you time off,” to which Jerrie replied, “Yes, he will.”
