“Trump is Hitler.” “The Republican Party are Nazis.” “ICE is the Gestapo.”
We hear these cries nearly nonstop. Beyond the fact that none of those claims is remotely true, they’re also horrendous and deeply insensitive accusations.
If you don’t like a president or candidate, discuss coverage — not imagined comparisons to one of historical past’s darkest chapters. President Trump can deal with the insults. That’s not what worries me.
What worries me are the kinfolk and descendants of the victims of Hitler and Nazi Germany — six million Jews who had been systematically murdered. Nazis rounded up Jews in 21 nations, loaded them onto vehicles and trains, and despatched them to focus camps.

Some didn’t even make it to the camps. Some had been lined up and shot.
Some of them had been attorneys, docs, judges, or athletes. It didn’t matter. If they had been Jewish, they might die. No one protested for them. No one would call for the release of the prisoners. A overwhelming majority of the world didn’t realize it was occurring.
That was fascism. That was Nazism. That was Hitler.
