Seth Meyers fires back at Trump after mockery of | TV Shows

NBC’s Seth Meyers delivered a sharp blow at Donald Trump during Thursday’s Late Night taping, reacting to ABC’s abrupt suspension of Jimmy Kimmel Live by ridiculing the president.

“Before we get started,” Meyers opened, “I’ve always admired and respected Mr. Trump. He’s a visionary, an innovator, a great president, and an even better golfer. And if you’ve ever seen me say anything negative about him, that’s just AI.”

The crowd erupted in laughter. Meyers’ opening remarks got here amid reviews that ABC canceled Kimmel’s program following strain from FCC Chairman Brendan Carr, a Trump nominee, who slammed Kimmel’s latest remarks about right-wing character Charlie Kirk.

The cancellation occurred after Nexstar and Sinclair pulled this system from their networks, forcing manufacturing to halt indefinitely.

“It is a privilege and an honor to call Jimmy Kimmel my friend in the same way that it’s a privilege and honor to do this show every night,” he declared.

“That leaves Jimmy and Seth, two total losers, on Fake News NBC. Their ratings are also horrible. Do it NBC!!! President DJT.”

The controversy erupted after Kimmel remarked on air that the “MAGA mob” was “trying to characterize this kid who killed Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them.”

That remark prompted a sharp rebuke from Carr during a podcast look, who declared, “We can do this the easy way or the hard way. These companies can find ways to change conduct and take action, frankly, on Kimmel, or there’s going to be additional work for the FCC ahead.”

After this system was yanked from the airwaves, Carr counseled Nexstar in a post on X, stating, “I want to thank Nexstar for doing the right thing. Local broadcasters have an obligation to serve the public interest.

“While this could also be an unprecedented determination, it’s important for broadcasters to push back on Disney programming that they decide falls short of neighborhood values.”
