Norwegian Cruise Line canceled months of cruises impacting four ships.

Norwegian Gem and Norwegian Dawn will commerce homeports between November 2026 and March 2027. They will “offer modified and enhanced itineraries” as a end result, the cruise line told USA TODAY in an emailed assertion.

“Norwegian Gem will sail Caribbean and Bahamas cruises from Tampa, Fla. ranging from four to 11-day itineraries offering a wider variety of options for guests,” the company told USA TODAY in an emailed assertion. “Norwegian Dawn will sail shorter voyages to the Bahamas from Jacksonville, Fla.”

The cruises will also make more stops at the line’s non-public island in the Bahamas, Great Stirrup Cay, which is getting a quantity of upgrades. Those embrace a waterpark set to open in the summer time of 2026.

The cruise line also scrapped a number of sailings on Norwegian Getaway between November 2026 and December 2026 and aboard Norwegian Joy in December 2026, citing “port availability.”

“The new sailings will feature more immersive itineraries to the Caribbean and the Bahamas for guests looking for longer cruises during the holiday season,” Norwegian said. The cruise line said new itineraries on the vessels will open for reserving “in the near future.”

Impacted friends will get a full refund of the fare they paid, along with a 10% future cruise credit.

“We are committed to providing exceptional vacation experiences, both aboard our ships and by taking our guests to some of the most sought-out destinations around the world,” the cruise line said. “While we try to maintain original itineraries as much as possible, at times modifications are made to optimize voyages to meet guest demand or due to changing port availability.”

The news comes after Norwegian scrapped more than four months of sailings on its Norwegian Prima and Norwegian Breakaway ships over the summer time due to “a fleet redeployment.” Cruise cancellations are comparatively uncommon but do happen for other causes such as ship charters or when vessels need to go into dry dock for upkeep or refurbishment.
