Ole Miss hands Lane Kiffin ultimatum to make his…

The latest twist in the Lane Kiffin teaching drama entails a deadline.

Ole Miss has handed Kiffin — its coach since 2020 but a candidate for both the LSU and Florida openings — an “ultimatum,” according to The Athletic, and desires him to determine on his future with the Rebels by their Nov. 28 Egg Bowl recreation.

Kiffin was requested again about his future with this system following their recreation Saturday, but he didn’t definitively stay dedicated to Ole Miss, which is 10-1 and No. 5 in the latest AP rankings.

Both LSU and Florida despatched non-public planes to fly Kiffin’s household to their colleges over the weekend, according to The Athletic — but Kiffin reportedly wasn’t on the journeys.

Louisianasports.web reported that Kiffin’s ex-wife Layla — with whom he shares three youngsters and reportedly has reconciled since getting divorced in 2016 — was touring the town.

“I love what we’re doing here,” Kiffin said after the Rebels defeated the Gators on Saturday in Gainesville, Fla., a venue that featured chants and shirts suggesting Florida followers could be just superb with him as their next coach. “Today was awesome. To even talk about it right now would be so disrespectful to our players and how well they played today. We’ve got a lot of things going here. Doing really well, and I love it here.”

Both the Florida and LSU jobs opened in October, with the Gators head coach fired Oct. 19 following a victory that bumped their document to 3-4 and LSU’s Brian Kelly canned one week later following a brutal 24-point loss to Texas A&M.

The deadline from Ole Miss would power Kiffin to determine on his future before the ultimate recreation of the common season, with a bye this weekend adopted by their rivalry recreation against Mississippi State the next weekend.

It’s unclear what will occur if Kiffin doesn’t reveal his choice before the Egg Bowl, according to The Athletic.
