Sharon Osbourne and Yungblud paid tribute to Ozzy Osbourne on the red carpet of the Grammys. 

The 68th annual Grammy Awards formally kicked off with a star-studded red carpet on Sunday, February 1, before the ceremony aired live on CBS and streaming on Paramount+.

Before piling into Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena, the largest names in music posed together for some memorable red carpet pictures, including the 73-year-old actuality TV star and the 28-year-old singer. The pair honored Ozzy, who handed away on July 22 at 76, by coming together to assist one another.

Sharon, who wore Ozzy-like darkish shades and an all-black outfit, gripped Yungblud’s hand as he slung his arm over her shoulders and mocked-screamed for the cameras. The singer, who wore a black leather-based coat with a cheetah-print collar, clutched his belt.

The second between the buddies was particular as Yungblud often called Ozzy his mentor. This 12 months, Yungblud acquired three Grammy nominations, including a win for Best Rock Performance for Changes (Live from Villa Park), which was his cowl of Ozzy’s track at Black Sabbath’s farewell live performance in July.

At the MTV VMAs last September, Yungblud joined Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and Joe Perry, Ozzy’s bandmate Adam Wakeman, and Extreme’s Nuno Bettencourt to pay homage to the Prince of Darkness.

The tribute featured Yungblud delivering renditions of Ozzy’s Crazy Train and Changes. Tyler and Perry delivered Mama, I’m Coming Home, with Yungblud later becoming a member of the efficiency.

Yungblud has been open about his close relationship with Ozzy and the profound sorrow he is skilled since Ozzy’s passing just days after his electrifying efficiency at Villa Park in Birmingham during Black Sabbath’s Back to the Beginning farewell live performance.

The singer admitted that coping with his mentor’s death was “overwhelming” after beforehand praising the star as “the greatest of all time” in a heartfelt message.

Yungblud told The Times, “I told a friend that I thought Ozzy had another five albums in him. And then he did the show, and then he died. It’s so overwhelming.”

He continued, “I just love him, and right until the very end, he supported me. I get emotional because I’ve loved him since I was about two.

“He taught me self-belief, and so I’m going to take his spirit and make sure all people is aware of for the remainder of my life who Ozzy Osbourne was – he meant the whole lot to me.”

On July 22, mere hours after the news of the star’s death broke, Yungblud took to Instagram to post personal photos of himself chatting with and smiling next to wheelchair-bound Ozzy.

In a heartfelt message, he penned, “I did not suppose you would depart so soon the last time we met you have been so full of life and your giggle crammed up the room. But as it’s written with legends, they appear to know the issues that we do not.

“I will never forget you – you will be in every single note I sing and with me every single time I walk on stage. Your cross around my neck is the most precious thing I own. You asked me once if there was anything you could do for me, and as I said then, and as I will say now, for all of us, the music was enough.

“You took us on your journey – an journey that began it all. I’m really heartbroken. You have been the best of all time.”

Meanwhile, the artists set to perform at the Grammys this year are Clipse, Pharrell Williams, Sabrina Carpenter, and all of the best new artist nominees: Katseye, Olivia Dean, Leon Thomas, Addison Rae, Sombr, Lola Young, The Marías, and Alex Warren.

Kendrick Lamar leads nominations with nine, including an album of the year nomination. If he wins for GNX — or if Tyler, the Creator’s Chromakopia or Clipse’s Let Got Sort Em Out wins — it will be only the third time a rap album has taken home the award, according to AP.
