Donald Trump angry after Putin told him about | Political News

Donald Trump shared his anger after he was told of an assault on Vladimir Putin’s personal residence.

The U.S. president met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at Mar-a-Lago on Monday, just a day after internet hosting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. This was the fifth assembly between Trump and Netanyahu in the U.S. this yr.

Putin said that he still needs to work on a peace deal with the U.S., but an assault on his residence by Ukraine compelled a revision of their place, said Kremlin international coverage adviser Yuri Ushakov. Putin was also briefed by Trump and his senior advisers about the negotiations with Ukraine.

When requested about the assault, which Ukraine denied involvement in, Trump said, “I don’t know about it, actually,” including, “I just heard about it, actually, but I don’t know about it, so to speak. That would be too bad, that would not be good.”

Trump added: “It’s one thing to be offensive, because they’re offensive. It’s another thing to attack his house. It’s not the right time to do any of that … I was very angry about it.”

Trump said that his most current call with Putin was a “very good talk,” saying, “By the time we finished, it was 2:30 a.m. in Russia. We had a very good talk. We spoke at 8 a.m. in the morning, our time, and it was a very productive talk.

“And now we have a few very thorny points as you may think about… now we have a couple of points that we’re going to get resolved, hopefully, and if we get them resolved, you are going to have peace.”

Zelensky denied the claim, calling it “typical Russian lies,” saying that Moscow was using “harmful statements” to undermine “diplomatic efforts” with the U.S.

“This alleged ‘residence strike’ story is a full fabrication meant to justify further assaults against Ukraine, including Kyiv, as nicely as Russia’s own refusal to take needed steps to end the warfare,” Zelensky said yesterday, following his two-hour meeting with Trump.

He warned that a strike on a main government complex in its capital was likely, similar to Russia’s bombing in September of the cabinet minister’s building in central Kyiv.

Russia’s foreign minister, Sergei Lavrov, claimed that Ukraine tried to hit Putin’s home in the Novgorod region, south of St. Petersburg. As a result, Moscow’s negotiating position would be reviewed, he said.

“Such reckless actions won’t go unanswered,” said Lavrov, adding that Russian air defences shot down 91 incoming drones. Trump said he was “shocked” at the news.

“I realized about it from President Putin today,” he said, adding, “It’s a delicate period of time. This will not be the appropriate time. It’s one factor to be offensive, because they’re offensive. It’s another factor to assault his home. It’s not the appropriate time to do any of that.”
