Bill Hemmer brutally cut off Trey Yingst during his coverage of Iran.
On the Wednesday, January 7 phase of Fox News’ America’s Newsroom, the international correspondent started his live coverage from Tel Aviv, Israel discussing the local’s growing concern of another strike from Iran.
“Here in Israel, the army remains on high alert preparing for the possibility of another war with Iran. Bill, Dana—,” he started, before being interrupted by the 61-year-old host, who said, “So Trey, why don’t we keep you here. There’s a big story in the Associated Press today talking about the events of Venezuela this past weekend are on the minds of many there in Iran.
He then suggested an abrupt switch in topic, saying, “I don’t know what you picked up on that. [Ali] Khamenei is believed to have gone into hidng for his own protection. Can we advance that story at the moment or not?”
Yingst agreed, first giving context on the weekend’s occasions. He began, “Absolutely, look the Iranians are looking at what the United States says and what the United States does. President [Donald] Trump was very clear that if Nicolas Maduro continued to try and get drugs in the United States, that the U.S. would take action against his regime. We saw late night that that’s exactly what happened.
Right now, the regime has to decide if the president is bluffing and if recent history shows anything, ultimately, he does what he says he is going to do.
Iran’s supreme leader, Khamenei, responded to Trump’s remarks, saying the Islamic Republic “will not yield to the enemy” and that rioters ought to be “put in their place.”
“The regime stays on high alert. According to studies, we noticed over the past 48 hours Iranian air protection conducting a selection of drills getting ready the likelihood of American or Israeli strikes,” Yingst concluded.
America’s Newsroom airs every weekday at 9 a.m. EST on Fox News.
