Senator Josh Hawley erupted in anger at Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison during a Senate committee assembly on Thursday after accusing him of taking marketing campaign donations from fraudsters.
Hawley claimed that the donations got here from the thousands and thousands of Minnesota residents who had been victims of fraud. Hawley, a Republican from Missouri, cited a report from the New York Post as a foundation for his accusation.
“You helped fraudsters defraud your state and this government of $9 billion — and you got a campaign contribution out of it,” Hawley erupted at Ellison. “You ought to be indicted.”
The report indicated that fraudsters from the Feeding Our Future scandal made off with $250 million in taxpayer contributions in in addition to $10,000 in contributions from people. “Do you know where it went? What it was used for — the fraudulent money? “Whistleblowers came to you in your office and referred to you fraud allegations from Feeding Our Future, and you blew them off. Listen to your own state newspaper,” continued Hawley. Ellison, once again, stated that the Missouri Senator was lying.
Hawley continued his assault by claiming that Ellison’s office had received a visit from Partners in Nutrition about the allegations, but did “nothing for years.” He added, “The only action you took is once all these fraudsters came to your office and asked you to get involved and offered your money, not come and you got involved, then you have the money and then you got involved.”
“They did not come to my office. You’re fully mistaken. … I didn’t see anyone,” Ellison retorted. Hawley and Ellison ended their sparring match by telling each other they should resign.

While the shouting match offered leisure for many, one eagle-eyed person seen that Hawley was actually foaming at the mouth. “Jogging Josh Hawley, like a rabid dog at the hearing this morning,” one individual posted on X, while including a close-up on the senator before asking him to “contain your spittle, please.”
