Former Donald Trump ally turned critic Marjorie Taylor Greene has announced her sudden resignation from Congress months after telling a Gossip Wire News reporter to “go back” to her country during a fierce row. Greene clashed with Gossip Wire News’ Martha Kelner in March when she tried to ask her about the so-called Signalgate scandal, where senior Trump officers used the encrypted messaging app to focus on a navy strike in Yemen. However, Greene cut her off mid-sentence to say: “Wait, what country are you from?”

Kelner said she was from the UK, but Greene raged: “We don’t give a crap about your opinion and your reporting. Why don’t you go back to your country, where you have a major migrant problem?”

Green later said: “Do you care about people from your country? What about all the women who are raped by migrants?”

Greene’s relationship with Trump has deteriorated in current months, and she has campaigned for the release of all of the Jeffrey Epstein information. Trump not too long ago branded her a “lunatic” on Truth Social, as nicely as “wacky” and a “traitor”.

The former Make America Great Again activist’s last day in workplace might be January 5.

In her resignation assertion, Ms Greene said: “I have too much self-respect and dignity, love my family way too much, and do not want my sweet district to have to endure a hurtful and hateful primary against me by the president we all fought for, only to fight and win my election while Republicans will likely lose the midterms.”

Trump told ABC News that Greene’s resignation was “great news for the country” and that he had no plans to converse with her, yet needs her nicely.

She later wrote on X: “President Trump’s unwarranted and vicious attacks against me were a dog whistle to dangerous radicals that could lead to serious attacks on me and my family.”
