Vice President JD Vance said that President Donald Trump’s administration will pay the troops utilizing “pretty nonconventional” strategies amid the federal government shutdown.
Vance’s feedback come a day after the president ordered Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth to “use all available funds” to pay the troops by Oct. 15 on Truth Social.
During a Sunday section on Fox News’s Sunday Morning Futures, Vance assured that the president would be “doing some fairly nonconventional issues, as President Trump often does, to guarantee that our troops are ready to get paid.”

Vance emphasised that Trump’s “decisive action on tariffs” ensures the Treasury to have money which may be used to pay the troops.

Trump said on Saturday that the troops are being held “hostage” by the Democrats.
“Chuck Schumer recently said, ‘Every day gets better’ during their Radical Left Shutdown. I DISAGREE!” Trump said, lashing out at Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.).
“If nothing is done, because of ‘Leader’ Chuck Schumer and the Democrats, our Brave Troops will miss the paychecks they are rightfully due on October 15,” he continued.
