The show follows the first two seasons of With Love, Meghan and comes after the Sussexes signed their revised, first-look settlement with Netflix back in August. Nevertheless, it appears that Meghan’s latest enterprise failed to win over its reviewers.

The episode confronted harsh criticism from quite a few media organizations, with one describing it as “unfathomable.”

She remarked, “I can only assume that the part where she puts on monogrammed red pajamas and talks about quiche Lorraine in a My Fair Lady accent was a fever dream,” before including, “We learn that red is a festive color and that if you don’t like cheese or pepper, you might not like a dish consisting of cheese and pepper,” reviews the Express.

The Telegraph, however, was even less impressed, awarding it a single star. The publication’s Arts and Entertainment Editor, Anita Singh, described the show as “quite mad and a little bit sad.”

Ewens elaborated, “It’s not a real special by any stretch, but some YouTube content or the radio that you might put on in the background as you do your tree or wrap your presents.

“White noise to uninteresting the senses. It’s all a little Stepford Wives; not informative, enjoyable, pleasing or even aspirational. Because the people watching this, including me, will never have a Christmas like this.”

The Guardian was slightly more forgiving, rating the episode with two stars. TV critic Lucy Mangan suggested viewers might need “anti-nausea drugs” to endure the show.

Mangan advised, “I really feel both offended and harmed, but in the spirit of goodwill, I’ll add a star to my ranking in gratitude for the fact that at least we’re secure now until next 12 months.”
