Noem launches Operation Midway Blitz as ICE | Political News

The Department of Homeland Security announced an ICE incursion into Chicago, which has been dubbed Operation Midway Blitz.

In a assertion on X, DHS said the new operation is being launched in honor of Katie Abraham, a lady who was allegedly killed in a drunk driving hit-and-run. The post featured a video with testimony from members of her household.

“DHS is launching Operation Midway Blitz in honor of Katie Abraham who was killed in a drunk driving hit-and-run car wreck caused by criminal illegal alien Julio Cucul-Bol in Illinois,” the division wrote.

DHS took the chance to assault Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker for his pro-immigration insurance policies, maintaining in line with President Donald Trump‘s latest assaults against Pritzker.

“This ICE operation will target the criminal illegal aliens who flocked to Chicago and Illinois because they knew Governor Pritzker and his sanctuary policies would protect them and allow them to roam free on American streets,” DHS wrote.

“President Trump and Secretary Noem stand with the victims of illegal alien crime while Governor Pritzker stands with criminal illegal aliens,” it concluded.

Trump has been calling for the deployment of the National Guard in Chicago for a number of weeks, claiming that the town is plagued by murders and violent crime.

Taking to his Truth Social, Trump has repeatedly posted statistics about gun violence and murders in the town, though he never cites his sources.

Chicago is plagued by crime, but Pritzker and Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson have adamantly refused to permit Trump to ship in the Guard, stating that they will deal with the issue themselves and that such a federalization is pointless.

Trump said during a speech at the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C., that he was “waiting on a call” from authorities in Chicago and that he is keen to “straighten it out,” referring to the town’s crime drawback. He beforehand said he and the federal authorities are prepared to go in.

DON’T MISS…

In a prolonged, scathing Truth Social post on Monday, Trump took more photographs at Pritzker, writing, “6 people were murdered in Chicago this weekend, 12 others were shot, and in serious condition. This would mean that over the past number of weeks, approximately 50 people were killed, and hundreds were shot, many expected to die. Governor Pritzker just stated that he doesn’t want Federal Government HELP! WHY??? What is wrong with this guy, and the 5% in Polls Mayor.”

“I want to help the people of Chicago, not hurt them. Only the Criminals will be hurt! We can move fast and stop this madness,” he continued. “The City and State have not been able to do the job. People of Illinois should band together and DEMAND PROTECTION. IT IS ONLY GOING TO GET WORSE!!! ACT NOW, BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE!!! Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DJT.”

Pritzker responded on X, posting a screenshot of that Truth Social post and writing, “‘I want to help people, not hurt them,’ says the guy who just threatened an American city with the Department of War.”

He was referring to a earlier Truth Social post from the president that featured an AI-generated graphic, with the president writing, “‘I love the smell of deportations in the morning…’ Chicago about to find out why it’s called the Department of WAR.” He hooked up three helicopter emojis.

Pritzker posted a screenshot of that on X, writing, “The President of the United States is threatening to go to war with an American city. This is not a joke. This is not normal. Donald Trump isn’t a strongman, he’s a scared man. Illinois won’t be intimidated by a wannabe dictator.”
