Oh, Come On! Clinton-Appointed Judge Jumps in to

Here we go again: the solar rises, another federal decide kneecaps the Trump agenda. In this latest ruling, issued Monday, a Bill Clinton-appointed jurist determined that Trump hasn’t explained himself enough and “failed to justify” his choice to put a halt to the wind project insanity that has swept the nation.

Sometimes I want the president would just say, “I got 77 million votes, you didn’t — that’s my justification. Buzz off.” Of course, he can’t do that:

A federal decide on Monday ruled that President Donald Trump’s administration had failed to justify its choice to droop issuing leases and permits for new wind initiatives in retaining with the Republican president’s needs.

U.S. District Judge Patti Saris in Boston sided with a group of 17 Democrat-led states and the District of Columbia in discovering that companies had failed to sufficiently clarify why that they had indefinitely paused all federal approvals of wind-energy initiatives.

On Trump’s first day in workplace (January 20), he issued an government order titled “Temporary Withdrawal of All Areas on the Outer Continental Shelf from Offshore Wind Leasing and Review of the Federal Government’s Leasing and Permitting Practices for Wind Projects.” The title is fairly long-winded, but you get the thought: he’s not a fan of the ineffective, expensive, environmentally dangerous wind initiatives. (You would possibly just find a way to guess where I stand on them, too).

Apparently, though, Judge Saris is aware of better than the duly elected commander-in-chief. Saris:

“…the coverage “constitutes a change of course from decades of agencies’ issuing (or denying) permits related to wind energy projects.”

She said the companies never supplied a reasoned clarification for adopting the change.

“Indeed, the Agency Defendants candidly concede that the sole factor they considered in deciding to stop issuing permits was the President’s direction to do so,” Saris wrote.

You understand it’s a questionable choice when New York Attorney General Letitia James is a fan. The ruling is “a big victory in our fight to keep tackling the climate crisis,” she crowed on social media.

We received our lawsuit and stopped the Trump administration from blocking an array of new wind power initiatives.

As we have now lined extensively at RedState, wind initiatives aren’t all that, and are actively harming the very surroundings which leftists are always shrieking about.

It’s unclear if the Trump administration will appeal this ruling, but my guess is that they’re not going to take it mendacity down. Wind just isn’t the futuristic reply to our fuel wants that so many promote it as. The president is correct to level out that the emperor has no garments.
