“I just think, if it aligns with my moral values, I feel like I’m representing it. Just because I’m wearing the flag doesn’t mean I represent everything that’s going on in the US.”
Hess’ feedback did not sit proper with Sean Strickland, who shared a strongly-worded reply toward his countryman.
“Hunter Hess is a bi***,” Strickland said in a rant on social media following the Olympian’s feedback. “Get the f*** out of this country, we don’t want you here.”
