“I Like Me,” director Colin Hanks’ new documentary celebrating the life of the late comedic actor John Candy, will screen at eight North American venues with host Ryan Reynolds forward of its Oct. 10 Amazon Prime release date.
Tri-staters are in luck, too.
As of now, the movie is slated to stop at New Brunswick, NJ’s State Theatre on Thursday, Sept. 25 and Brooklyn’s Kings Theatre on Wednesday, Oct. 8.
Reynolds will likely be joined by pals at all gigs. According to a press release, the “friends” set to take the stage with him are “surprise guests and members of Candy’s inner circle including family and friends for moderated conversations,” which will likely be moderated by NYU professor Dan Pasternak and Kevin McCarthy.
“Movies bring people together and millions of people came together to watch John Candy,” Reynolds said in a assertion. “I am so excited to share our film on a big screen and to share the stage with some of the people who knew him best as they share their memories of the man.”
Net proceeds from all screenings will go toward St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
