The Democrats can scream like toddlers all they need; there aren’t any Republicans who are in the temper to be the weak mother and father who cave. I’m not sure it is attainable, but perhaps the Dems can exhaust themselves.

White House What’s Up

After returning from the G7 in Canada and spending a lot of Tuesday assembly with his National Security Council in the Situation Room, President Donald Trump has a pretty gentle formal schedule on Wednesday — though we will anticipate we’ll “hear” from him all through the day.

At 11:00 AM, they’re raising the flag poles he is had put in at the White House. At midday, he’ll take part in a Swearing-In Ceremony for the Ambassador to the French Republic and Principality of Monaco. After that, he’ll have lunch with the Chief of Army Staff of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

Full Court Press…

The Supreme Court is set to hand down extra opinions at the moment. We will, of course, monitor those bulletins and report on any of word. My newest Skinny on SCOTUS installment is out — will do my best to get the next one up at the moment or tomorrow and then get us caught up over the weekend.

There had been some attention-grabbing court selections on Wednesday, including the dreaded Judge Boasberg really discovering in favor of the administration on a Freedom of Information Act/information retention case.

And the ninth Circuit heard oral argument on Tuesday in Newsom v. Trump (relating to the National Guard federalization/deployment). We can anticipate a ruling from them in the next day or two, but it sounds as though it went fairly properly for the administration.

COMING ATTRACTIONS

Trump is set to attend the annual NATO Summit next week in the Netherlands.

As famous above, we’ll be getting some SCOTUS selections momentarily and can anticipate a ninth Circuit ruling on the Newsom-Trump tug-of-war in the next day or so.

MORNING MUSING

I’ve shared this before right here, but some might not know this: I’m a recovering Democrat. I used to be a liberal (center-left) Dem until around my mid-thirties, so I’ve a truthful degree of empathy for “regular Joe” Dems. That’s to be distinguished from the Progressive Left and from what I call “Professional Dems” — the oldsters who make their residing in entrance of the digital camera, either really in media or by perpetually mugging for it. It’s clichéd at this level, but the Professional Dems have misplaced the plot. Their only guideline anymore appears to be to oppose Donald Trump — and anybody or something related with him — at all prices. They’ve stopped being aspirational and having their own constructive platform or agenda. It’s all just “NOT TRUMP!!1!” And they appear to have missed that that actually is not working properly for them.

Their resolution to this stunted growth? More stunts. Cursing, crass language, outlandish statements, barging into departments and ICE services, wild-eyed faux filibusters, crashing Cabinet secretary press conferences, getting bodily with federal law enforcement, and getting arrested. And many of their base, taking their cue, have translated that into avenue riots, vandalism, looting, attacking law enforcement.

Toddlers? Rebellious teenagers? Possessed by demons? None of the becoming metaphors paint a fairly image of my former tribe. They’ve misplaced the plot and misplaced their approach. And unless/until they discover their Joshua (who, I predict, will not be named Gavin or JB or Kamala), it appears they’re destined to proceed wandering in the desert.

Right now, it appears, all they’ve is stunts — good for some consideration; good for mockery; not good for their social gathering or the republic.
