An eyepoke from Gaethje stalled the motion in the first spherical, but Pimblett resisted a long recovery, and they went proper back into spherical one.
In spherical two, Gaethje dominated again and the 2 exchanged large moments, though Gaethje appeared to be getting the better of the flurries. But Pimblett would not give up.

In the third spherical, Pimblett was badly compromised from a number of eye pokes and fixed strain from Gaethje. With a minute remaining, Pimblett began choosing up pace and backing up Gaethje, but landed a low blow in the method.
