Ukraine soldiers brand Trump peace deal | Political News
Ukrainian soldiers have spoken out about their ideas on the initial U.S. 28-point peace plan to end the Russia–Ukraine struggle.
The controversial plan, first leaked last week, would require Ukraine to give up territory, keep out of NATO, and cap the Ukrainian Armed Forces at 600,000 personnel, among other concessions.
In return, Russia would give back smaller chunks of land it controls in other areas, sources reveal.
Since then, American and Ukrainian negotiators have met in Geneva to create an”updated and refined peace framework”, and will continue to work on it in the approaching days, according to a joint assertion launched Sunday.
A handful of soldiers revealed to the BBC their strong emotions toward the initial draft plan, with some saying frankly that it’s unsupported.

The authentic US plan proposes that Ukraine cede your entire Donbas area, despite Kyiv controlling roughly 15% of it; some of the soldiers appeared prepared to give up the land, despite Ukraine having efficiently defended elements of it since the start of the struggle.
“Let them take it,” Snake told the BBC. “There’s practically no one left in the cities and villages… We’re not fighting for the people but for the land, while losing more people.”
