A CBS News correspondent sparked an inner conflict after circulating a staff-wide e mail urging colleagues to keep away from language advisable by a trans journalists’ group when writing about transgender people, according to experiences.
The dispute erupted Nov. 6, when staffers obtained an e mail from a distinguished correspondent saying the community “should refrain from adopting terminology advocated by the [Trans Journalists Association],” the Guardian reported.
