President Donald Trump appeared “emotional” while talking about the assassination of Charlie Kirk during his deal with at the Pentagon for the 9/11 commemoration ceremony.
Trump, accompanied by first woman Melania, celebrated America’s victories in World Wars I and II before adopting a more somber tone to pay tribute to Kirk, who was gruesomely shot and killed at Utah Valley University.

In a video message from the Oval Office late Wednesday, Trump called Kirk “a martyr for truth and freedom” and condemned the “demonizing” of political opponents in the U.S., even as he claimed the rhetoric of the “radical left” was “directly responsible” for the assassination of Kirk. The assassination drew bipartisan condemnation.
