President Trump claimed Friday morning that the U.S. army struck a “big plant” that was allegedly concerned in assiting drug operations.
Trump made the announcement during a Friday morning radio interview with WABC radio Host John Catsimatidis.
According to the president, the U.S. army destroyed a facility where ships that transport lethal medicine to America are constructed.
“Every time we knock out a boat, we save 25,000 American lives. It’s very simple,” Trump said to Catsimatidis.
The two mentioned the U.S.’s months-long marketing campaign to goal suspected drug smuggling boats that are allegedly coming from Venezuela.
“We just knocked out … a big plant to — a big facility where they send the, you know, where the ships come from,” the president added. “Two nights ago, we knocked that out, so we hit them very hard.”
Trump didn’t specify precisely where the strike occurred, and did not say whether or not it occurred on the Venezuelan mainland.
Trump has escalated a stress marketing campaign against Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, ever since the army started hanging boats in Venezuela in September. Concerns have arisen that the U.S. is ready to escalate to a land conflict with Venezuela.
In an interview broadcast on Dec. 19, Trump told NBC News that going to conflict with Maduro’s regime is still on the desk. “I don’t rule it out, no,” he said in a telephone interview with the community.
Besides the boat strikes, the Trump administration started seizing oil tankers off the coast of Venezuela this month. So far, two oil tankers have been seized.

On Monday, Trump confirmed that the U.S. Coast Guard is still pursuing a third oil tanker in worldwide waters close to Venezuela. “We’re actually pursuing” the tanker, Trump said. “It came out of Venezuela, and it was sanctioned.”
The Trump administration has accused Venezuela of utilizing oil money to fund drug-related crime, while Venezuela has described the tanker seizures as “piracy.”
Trump added that the U.S. will keep the oil from the tankers it seized while talking to reporters in Florida on Monday.
“Maybe we will sell it, maybe we will keep it. Maybe we’ll use it in the Strategic Reserves. We’re keeping the ships also,” he added.
On Tuesday, Venezuela’s parliament accredited a measure that criminalizes a broad vary of actions that can hinder navigation and commerce in the South American nation, such as the seizure of oil tankers.
The invoice was launched, debated, and accredited within two days in the National Assembly.
