Scheffler maintained his lead in first, second, third, and fourth-round scoring averages over the 2025 season.

The last participant to accomplish this feat was Woods back in 2000.

Scheffler posted averages of 67.45 in opening rounds, 68.00 in second rounds, 68.40 in third rounds, and 68.10 in remaining rounds.

His season-long scoring average beat Rory McIlroy by practically a full stroke.

While Scheffler has constantly downplayed Woods comparisons beforehand, he is now climbing the document books.

“I think in the simplest form, I think it’s very silly to be compared to Tiger Woods,” Scheffler remarked when questioned about such parallels at the Tour Championship in August.

“I think Tiger is a guy that stands alone in the game of golf, and I think he always will.

“Tiger impressed a complete technology of golfers. You’ve grown up watching that man do what he did week in, week out. It was fairly superb to see.”

Despite believing the comparisons are ridiculous, Scheffler still seeks to adopt Woods’ approach and behavior on the course.

“My greatest takeaway from taking part in with Tiger was the quantity of depth that he took to every shot, and that’s one thing I’ve talked to a lot of guys about,” Scheffler said at the Tour Championship after he and Woods played together at the 2020 Masters.

“We’re in twentieth place or whatever going into Sunday at the Masters, Tiger has received 5 Masters, he is received no probability of profitable the event,” Scheffler said.

“Then we confirmed up on the first gap and I used to be watching him read his putt, and I used to be like, ‘Oh, my gosh, this man is in it proper now.'”
