Christopher Meloni grew to become emotional as he thanked Law and Order followers for their help.
On April 17, Meloni, 65, took to social media and shared a short video to focus on the cancellation of his NBC cop drama, Law & Order: Organized Crime. The Law and Order spinoff ran for about 4 seasons on the community. The sequence then aired its fifth and last season on the streaming platform, Peacock.
The former Special Victims Unit actor captioned the post, “Thank you, OC/SVU fans. You gave me a life.” Unfortunately, Netflix had also eliminated his past show, Happy!, which had viewers “hooked from episode one.”
Meloni hesitated speaking to the digicam before he said, “Hey, everyone, I just saw that they announced OC, Organized Crime, won’t be coming back.”
He moved his tongue around inside his mouth before persevering with, “I just want to say thank you to the fans,” before flashing his tooth and sighing.
“Who not only helped give the character Elliot Stabler life and longevity,” he added before sighing closely and rolling his eyes.

“But for sticking with him,” he said while smiling. “Sticking with him and letting him come back.”
Meloni’s eyes began to develop into watery as he choked up and went on, “Good ride. It was a good ride. I had a great time playing him.”
He paused, moved his eyes around, and appeared to assume about last phrases before closing, “Thank you. You helped give me a career I never dreamed of. You know, 17 odd years.”
The ensemble solid included Danielle Moné Truitt, Ainsley Seiger, Rick Gonzalez, and Dean Norris. The drama adopted ex-detective Elliot Stabler (Meloni) as he returned to the New York Police Department to work on the Organized Crime Task Force.
Since 1999, Meloni has been a half of the Law & Order universe for more than 16 years. He performed Detective Stabler when he was first launched in the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit pilot. Due to Meloni’s chemistry with co-star Mariska Hargitay, who performs Detective Olivia Benson, viewers anticipated a will-they-or-won’t-they romance to develop between the 2 characters.
However, Meloni left the show during the twelfth season finale in 2011. Stabler handed in his badge and gun, leaving the police pressure, abruptly squashing the romance. The actor reprised the function in Season 22 before touchdown the lead function of the spinoff.
On April 17, NBC announced that Organized Crime wouldn’t return for a sixth season. The drama struggled with its scores due to its twin broadcast/streaming deal during its fifth season. Behind the scenes, the show struggled to keep a artistic staff in place, with 5 showrunners over its five-season run, according to Deadline. If this system had been renewed for a sixth season, it might have needed to rent its sixth showrunner.
