When Your Brilliant but Humble Columnist Becomes | Political News
It might curiosity RedState readers to study that I’ve formally made the big time, national American political scene today, in the MAINSTREAM MEDIA!
POLITICO, a political MSM organ that I’ve spent many fulfilling hours belittling for their fixed left-wing, uniformed and error susceptible Democrat propaganda, has formally labeled the paper I co-wrote – with my former boss, the previous Attorney General of Virginia and the previous Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security, Ken Cuccinelli – as THE OFFICIAL PLAN B for President Trump and the White House to fight the rising organized violence by antifa and other left-wing terror teams, and the other out-of-control crime issues, that are being thwarted by partisan Democrat public officers:
But even as the White House insists the president is on firm legal ground, Trump has made clear he has a plan B: the Insurrection Act, an 1807 law that offers the president emergency powers to deploy troops on U.S. soil to quell what the president deems an rebel.
The Center for Renewing America last 12 months printed a paper on how the Insurrection Act could possibly be used to help secure the border, and the doc closely hinted that this might apply to U.S. cities, he said.
Now, because it’s a POLITICO report, it’s rife with inaccuracies. Â Starting with, of course, that while the particular paper did talk about the Insurrection Act, that was not really the main level of the paper. Â In fact, it was primarily centered on the Posse Comitatus Act, a federal law of the United States that was handed in 1878, soon after the Civil War.
The PCA was handed largely at the behest of racist Southern Democrats who wished to disenfranchise African Americans in the South and defeat the Northern Republicans, and U.S. Army brass who had been drained of their troops being grabbed by varied public officers exterior of their unit construction to implement the law to defend these African Americans from these Southern Democrat racists. Unfortunately, today, the PCA sponsorship is assigned a lot more noble motives – it was executed to defend the American people from the navy getting used to subjugate them, don’t you realize! – and has been misconstrued and misunderstood by the often braindead, or just lazy, U.S. judiciary and its workers to restrict presidential powers to deploy the navy to defend America’s borders and implement its legal guidelines.Â
Btw, this Center paper was in flip based on another legal paper on the same subject that I wrote in law faculty. At the time, I earned a stable B+.
I’ve mentioned the PCA a number of occasions at RedState. See right here and right here. Â
Now, had POLITICO reached out to me, or to my far better identified and far more scholarly and higher legal thoughts senior co-writer, who is at present a outstanding speaking head perched at the Center for Renewing America, which commissioned this very paper, we might have been in a position to educate Myah Ward about what he/she (I actually don’t know) was reporting on. Â
Then again, this is POLITICO. Following customary reporting strategies? Â Naaaaahhhhh.
Which is just not to say that POLITICO itself has never grown as a paper. While it’s true that their 2006 promise to members of the Americans for Tax Reform assembly – to be goal and non-partisan – was such an apparent joke even then that their founders had been actually laughed out of the room, their articles themselves have definitely turn into better and more in-depth Democrat and left-wing partisan slop over the years. Originally, at POLITICO, if you read the title and the short blurb at the top of the article, this included all the precise data contained within your complete article. The relaxation of the article was just surplusage. Now, their articles present more particulars and real reporting despite being Democrat partisan and leftist biased screeds.
Anyway, I would really like to humbly thank POLITICO and Myah Ward for vaguely noticing one thing I wrote, considerably describing it without mentioning me by title, and despite their apparent errors about the paper itself, in a national newspaper that focuses on Washington, DC politics, and claiming that it’s PLAN B for the Trump administration. Â
And I completely trust that they received the latter half of their report 100% right.
I’d also like to thank my household, my spouse, my mother and father, my siblings, and any other assorted hangers-on that would really like to steal some credit for my newfound fifteen minutes of fame, for their nurture and encouragement of me over the years (but not you members of the family who are at present combating with me over politics). Â Â
I’d also like to thank my legal professor, who gave me that B+ in my class at The Antonin Scalia Law School at George Mason University, for all of his help with the unique paper. Unfortunately, he’s now a confirmed and virulent Never Trumper and is not going to be so proud of my work and his own participation in said work with me. Oh effectively, it occurs.Â
Never change, POLITICO.
