FBI agent reveals unusual detail about Nancy | TV Shows

Heith Janke, the FBI particular agent in charge, hinted at an unusual detail picked up during the investigation of Nancy Guthrie’s kidnapping.

The mom of Today Show host Savannah Guthrie was reported lacking on Sunday after failing to attend her common 11 a.m. church service in Tucson, Arizona. Nancy, 84, was last noticed the night before, when her son-in-law dropped her off at home after a household meal. After authorities had been notified of her vanishing, investigators shortly discovered what appeared to be blood at the doorway to Guthrie’s home and evidence suggesting a break-in.

At a press briefing in Pima County, Arizona, on Thursday, FBI Special Agent Heith Janke said he was reviewing doable ransom notes as half of his investigation to decide whether or not they’re legit.

One letter was despatched to a number of media shops on Thursday, demanding cost by 5 p.m. Thursday, and if that wasn’t met, a second demand for Monday, according to Janke.

“I think we start to look at what the deadlines were in the note. First, it was 5:00 today. And then it had a second deadline after that,” he shared.

“We are continuing. In a normal kidnapping case, there would be contact now, trying to discuss that,” Janke identified, marking the unusual detail in the case.

“But those are the timeframes we are looking at as we move forward,” he added.

During the convention, the agent announced a six-figure reward for data main to “the recovery of Nancy Guthrie and/or the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in her disappearance.”

He supplied a $50,000 reward in the continued search for Svannah’s mom. 

Also at the convention, Janke confirmed that the FBI is now handling the case in partnership with the Pima County Sheriff’s Department.

The FBI agent said, “We are actively reviewing and analyzing information from all digital sources, which includes banks, social media companies, and phone companies.”

Sheriff Chris Nanos confirmed authorities “have not identified a suspect or a person of interest” at this time.

“We have been working around the clock, and we just want her home and to get to the bottom of all of this,” he said. “We’re at that phase now where sometimes we’re waiting, we’re waiting for analysis, we’re waiting for lab reports.”

On Wednesday evening, the NBC anchor and her siblings posted an emotional video on Instagram. They told whoever has their mom that they’re “ready to talk” and acknowledged they’re conscious of potential ransom communications.

“We are ready to talk. However, we live in a world where voices and images are easily manipulated,” she said.

“We need to know without a doubt that she is alive and that you have her,” Guthrie pleaded. “We want to hear from you, and we are ready to listen. Please reach out to us.”
